FUNL has been "green" since our inception rather than having recently jumped on the "green train" just to be trendy. While we are very happy to see sustainable business practices becoming trendy, we also believe that helping to protect our environment for future generations is much more important than trying to be "popular."
We have been "green" from our beginnings due to our belief in the importance of environmental responsibility and also the inherent cost savings we have been able to achieve (in many, though not all areas). Do you want a huge example?...Every year the average U.S. office worker uses approximately 9,999 sheets of paper. On average, we use LESS THAN 1000 sheets per year COMBINED (and it is partially made of recycled content). Just think of how much money that saves us (and ultimately you). We also try to do most of our client meetings over the phone, email, and video conference rather than driving and/or flying all over the country for meetings. We also implemented an electronic billing program in 2005 which has greatly reduced our printing and postal delivery impact.
We would rather leave a lasting impact on your customers than on our planet. Thanks to a special agreement with our local utilities provider, our office is powered 100% by renewable wind energy. Our server farm is also powered 100% by renewable energy through a hydroelectric facility which has been certified low impact by the Low Impact Hydro Institute (LIHI). We also purchase carbon offsets to counter-balance our estimated total carbon emissions footprint for business travel and supplies, have EnergyStar certified computers and other office equipment (when possible), and allow many of our employees to telecommute rather than driving to work.
If you choose to work with us because we strive to be aware of our environmental impact...great...but we would rather you choose us because we are the best!
